Victoriana Thermostatic Valve Passing

I have a Victoriana Thermostatic Valve fiited in my power shower for several years now. It has given good reliable service. My question is - is it possible for cold water to leak across the valve and force hot water back up into the tank ? which causes an overflow. This happens when the shower is not in use. If so can you advise which parts to replace to correct this problem.

Many thanks

It would be unusual but possible, the first thing to do would be to replace the seals in the valve.

This is a better internal view of the valve than there is on the NT page http://www.showerdoc.com/shower-spares/sirrus-by-gummers/GUM-PARENT-35-Sirrus-1850-Dual-Control---Thermostatic-Shower

Also you don’t mention which type of pump you have the problem could be with that.
