Issues with our Redring 500s

We have an intermittent issue with our Redring 500s.

When we turn it on it sometimes splutters This is resolved by turning the temperature from High to Medium, letting the shower run, for 30 seconds and then switching the temperature back to High, any ideas what could be causing this?

Another issue is that during the winter months we have to turn the temperature up higher, whereas in the summer months we can turn the temperature down to get the same water temperature, is this normal?

I think you may have a micro switch that is stuck in the on position this is keeping one of the elements energised even after you switch the shower off.

Can you hear the shower still heating after you switch off? If so it points to a stuck switch.

Electric showers are always cooler in the winter because the water temperature in the mains is always lower.
