Shower blows fuse every few weeks

Hi I have a 8.5 kW shower which blows the 30amp fuse every couple of weeks .In the last couple of months l have replaced the fuse on 4 occasions. The shower is approx 5 years old and has been working fine until now. The feed to the shower is on 6mm cable on a run of approx 17meters. Some of the cable is runs through the loft which is floored and insulated. Could the cable be degrading and causing this? All wiring connections are tight.

Here is a table that allows you to work out what you can do with the existing wiring, make sure you fill it in accurately as this can make a large difference to the eventual calculation.

You may also have to change the fuse

Up to 8.5kw 35 Amp fuse

Up to 9.5kw 40 Amp Fuse

Up to 10.5kw 45 Amp Fuse

If you are even in the slightest unsure about any of the above then please contact an electrician.
