This question is regarding Redring Expressions 500s 8.5kw - (53673001) - Shower Spares

what is the fault with my shower redring expressions 500s 8.5kW

When i switch the shower on it does not come on right away, it seems if it is switching itself on and off and it causes the lights in the house to flicker at the same pace as it is switching itself on and off. Is there a problem with the solenoid valve or the phased shutdown relay. Can anyone clarify this. Thanks.

Theremay be more than one problem here however first I would check yoursolenoid valve, you can check it if you have a multi meter, you shouldhave a reading of at least k3.5 ohms, across the two terminals any lessand you need a new valve. (Check the valve in the failed state.) (Whenit has stopped working!)

 

If there is power getting to the solenoid and it is not operating then there is a good chance that you have a faulty solenoid.

Apartfrom helping to fix your shower, they are really useful for checkingyou have a power supply to appliances, for checking fuses and lettingyou know much power you have left in batteries

(So you will know if they are good or not) and lots of other jobs, in short they are well worth a few pounds

If this test proves negative then It could be the phased shut down relay that is faulty.
