When switching the shower on at the 'high' it stop/start continuously. To get it to work properly I have to start the shower in the 'cold' position and let it run for a couple of minutes before turning it to the 'high' position again. When I do that it work fine on the 'high' setting - i.e. good pressure and good temperature.



If I start the shower in the 'med' position it will stop/start for a while until it is stabilised. Again, in this case I will let it stabilise before turning into the 'high' position. Once turned into the 'high' position it will either work fine or stop/start for a while until stabilised. When the high is finally working well there is good pressure/heat.



Which part may need replacing?

It is difficult to say from your description however I am pretty convinced that you have a problem with the solenoid valve, so it will need replacing.
