Shower speed control

My shower sometimes goes to full speed or max flow rate even when set to lowest or slowest setting some times it will vary all by itself, start off at lowest, which it is usually set at, and just jump to max and then after a few minutes return to lowest, or maybe not. No discernible pattern to it. Just random behaviour of not staying at what it was set at. Potentiometer fault ??

I agree potentiometer or PCB fault my feeling is pot.

However If you feel competent then I would put a multi meter across the terminals on top of the motor if the voltage goes up and down then probably the pot, if the voltage stays the same and the motor speed varies then most likely a motor and pump fault.

This is kind of one of these faults that you really need to be in front of the shower to diagnose.

If you are not keen to do this then it may be time to call in an electrician
