I don't know if this the the right part. What part of the shower does this go Many thanks

This fits onto the stabiliser valve.
You do not say what the problem is with your shower.

I can not regulate the heat. It stays at the high temperature. I can not turn the heat down I would appreciate your comments

Turn the shower temperature control from fully cold to fully hot. When you do this slowly there should be a gradual change in temperature and flow. At fully hot you should have not much more than a dribble coming from the hose, and on fully cold you should have a good strong flow. If you do not have this difference, or the flow or temperature is erratic, then you may have a faulty flow/stabilizer valve.
