Redring Expressions TCO

Hi I have a redring expressions shower and the high heat light remains on and water runs cold. I think it is the TMO can I replace it or do I have to get a new shower? Not sure of the model but does the same TMO fit all expression models? Just had a plumber out who told me it was unrepairable but he only switched it on?

I think you may have a faulty Thermal Cut Out

A faulty TCO will have no continuity across the two terminals (The black thing on top of the heating tank)

Therefore a good TCO will have power at both connections and a faulty TCO will have power at only one.

(The function of the TCO is, if the water over heats it cuts the power off to the elements)

See Video.

It is this TCO that is used across the expressions range
