This question is regarding Showerforce 970 971 &972(Newteam) - Shower Spares

972 stiff

Hi



Had this shower now for nearly 5 years and still loving it, The on/off handle has now gone very stiff, more so on turning off, plumber has advised it needs a new cartridge, would you aggree? Also should i replace the Thermo @ this time as a matter of course?

Astrip down clean lube and fitting a service kit should solve the problemhowever replacing the cartridge will be easier

I had the same problem.

I unscrewed the two threaded bars which allow you to grip the tap head. Inside the recess for one of these is a grub screw. Loosen this and the tap head slides off the spindle.

Use WD40 to lubricate the spindle and exercise it a few times before reassembling.
