Fixing the valve/tap in place?

Hi There, we have moved into a house and have a single lever Showerforce 970 type shower however the tap/lever control on the front of the unit is loose and slides on and off the regulator, is there anyway of reattaching the valve properly so that it stays in place?

Happy to provide images if that helps.

There is a grub screw beneath the handle that needs tightened.
