These pumps are good value for money pumps with a normal lifespan of around 5>6 years. (2 years to 12 years is not unheard of)

They can be repaired and we have the parts, however they aredifficult to work on and by the time you pay for the parts it starts to becomeuneconomic when you can buy a new pump fit it in less than an hour and you havea new guarantee.

Probably all you need is a new setof brushes around £20 however to get to them you need to dissemble both ends ofthe pump then remove the motor from the body and when you are reassembling thepump you should replace the shaft seals as once shaft seals have been disturbedthey seldom reseal correctly approx £15 each, then there is the possibility ofneeding end plate seals under a pound and you have to be careful with the glassreed switch sensors £8 each.

I would guess once you have it out and on the bench(or the kitchen table!) you are looking at around 1 ½ hours then you have torefit it and hope that every thing is water tight
