Shower force mistral

Hello. The shower is dripping as seams very common. Two questions:- I have checked seals and they appear in order but as they seal against the plastic dial plate,do they fit with the two lip towards the back side of the valve block unit or the other way round. Do you think increasing the seal length by installing a suitable o ring to the rear of the standard seals so as the seals protrude slightly more against the selector temperature thus increasing the pressure at the seal faces to the plate. It is a ma mouth task to change the valve etc as it is all tiled in. I cannot understand why somebody hasn't come up with a suitable seal as they aren't anything special being a engineer and dealing with seals regularly. Hope you can advise me with any idea that could be used as the valve must stay. Regards. Paul

It has been a long time since I worked on one of these, and I think that the top of the seal , as it is shown in the picture , goes in last.
Yes you could try and extend its length to see if that works. You will need a plain sided tubular seal approximately 17mm + in length.
