Hot then tepid water

Hello, My shower seems to be getting less and less warm to the point that it is currently tepid at best. (it used be be really hot :( ) I have tried to adjust tempreture via the adjusting screw but the water gets really hot for a second or so then returns to tepid again. Looking at other comments i assume the thermostat may need changing? the piston and seals look in good order, do i just need to replace the thermostat?????????

Regarding the temperature fluctuation or cool running it could be a faulty cartridge or needing serviced however to check this, see if you can get hold of the hot supply pipe before it enters the shower or perhaps as it leaves the boiler.

If when holding this pipe the temperature fluctuates or goes cool then the problem is not with the shower but more likely with the boiler as the shower can only deliver what the boiler sends to it.        #

Disregard the temperature at the taps as they have a different flow rate.

If the hot supply is OK then my advice would be a strip down clean lube and fit a service kit
