Gold surface mounted shower

I am not sure what make the shower is. The serial No. on the back of the shower is 405703 The thermostat and the water flow is all in the one control knob. The shower was switched on and then it would not turn off. Does it need a whole new cartridge ?

This shower may have a Bristan 1700 type cartridge in it. We would need to see the whole cartridge to be sure.

if it does then the above may cure the problem.

Since the cartridge is now obsolete , you can only fit a new service kit and hope that it solves the problem.
