Sirrus 1500 Antique

I have a badly worn thread on the spindle and the housing, which means that the handle can be overturned and the shower comes back on. The parts needed seem to be discontinued. I have replaced all the seals , and this has not resolved the problem. Can you advise as to how to repair this , or do I need to replace the whole shower unit. Please advise. Regards Martin Igoe
