Temperature control problem even after changing the cartridge

The shower (SIRRUS 1850-1) was running very hot and rather unresponsive to temperature changes. So I just fitted a new cartridge with the original thermo-couple and now it is running completely cold. I am unable to get it beyond lukewarm. Any ideas? Please help.
