Removing 1850 cartridge

Do you have any tips for removing the cartridge from the shower body ?

I've tried a large wrench, but can't get the thing to budge...

Well you are half way there .....A large wrench and brute strength is usually the answer (as long as you remember to hold against yourself)

The next easiest thing to try is a few kettles of boiling hot water over the valve body this may expand it just enough to release the cartridge nut, if that doesn’t work then you need to heat the body with a gas torch and the final solution is TNT J
