Sirrus 1850 thermostatically controlled shower

My shower runs direct from the mains with hot supply from a worcester combi boiler. When running a normal hot shower at full flow it will suddenly run cold for 10 to 20 seconds and then revert to the preset temperature, any suggestions?

I also have to use a lot of force to stop it dripping.

With the Sirrus 1800 series in almost every occasion thefirst thing to do is give them a strip down clean and lube and fit a servicekit, this will cure 85% of any problems and it is also the cheapest thing todo.

If after servicing you find out that it needs a thermostat or piston, nothing is really lost because it almost certainly needed a service in any case.

The 1800

There is no real difficulty with this valve however just take photos as you strip it down then you canthen refer to them when you are rebuilding.
