Manual Shower Valve

A local Hanyman installed a new shower and feeds to a friends refurbished shower cubicle. He has put the hot feed the wrong way round and the thermostat valve doesn't allow water through. My friend doesn't want to take tiles off the wall to change the pipes over. Is it possible to fit a manual valve to overcome this problem? Existing feeds are hot on the right and cold on the left looking at the pipes coming out of the wall. Would a manual valve turned upside down work any better assuming the hot on the manual valve is on the left. Hope this makes sense.

Any shower turned up side down should work.
