Sirrus Rothwell R995 - not getting hot

I have stripped the cartridge down, cleaned and lubed it using the valve service kit and it still isn't getting really hot.

Is it likely that the thermostat needs replacing?

The way to check the thermostat is to place the brass end in a cup of hot water then place it in a cup of cold water you should see the pin moving in and out (you have to watch carefully because the movement will only be about 3mm, if found to be faulty then the link below will take you to the part.
