St James thermostatic shower 14 years old

My st James shower had the temperature handle turned as if to tighten and is now just producing cold water no matter how much you turn it plumber thinks wee gauge is broke can you advise and point me in the right direction of parts

First thing to do is test the thermostat,

and also the spindle of the cartridge in case it is damaged.

You may have to replace the cartridge if this is the case.
