This question is regarding Sirrus Thermostatic Cartridge (no Thermostat) Standard - SK1500-2

Fitting new SK-1500-2

I have purchased the Cartridge and had it fitted. I get water flow from the shower as soon as i release the hot water valve and the shower is set to closed. When I turn the spindle the water out stays the same, no increase or decrease, basically it wont switch off. I have done what has been suggested and replaced the cartridge but dont understand why the new one is not working - i have checked the thermostat is facing the right way - any suggestions with what else I can try? There should be no reason for this happening.

 

If you are sure you have the thermostat fitted the correctway round  (pin pointing out) the onlyother thing I can think about is the temperature adjusting screw has been overadjusted.

To check this place a long thin screwdriver down the centrespindle of the shower valve and unscrew (Anticlockwise) the temperature adjustingscrew as far as it will go.

If this has been the problem then the shower should now shutoff and you will have to now reset the temperature.
