Problem with mixing valve (sirrus vernon tutbury)

I have one of the sirrus mixing valve and the problem is that .when the water is tern on ,the hot water is greater than the cold and it heats up

the cold and then both lines are hot so the face basin ,toilet and the bath tub every thing is hot

What can you tell me to do to solve the problem.

From what you are saying the hot water is entering the coldsupply and this is only happening when the shower is being used.

If this is correct then you need to check that the showerhead is not blocked, that the hose is not kinked or it has collapsedinternally.

If all these are OK then it is likely that the checkvalve  (one way valve) in the cold supplyhas stuck in the open position and is allowing the hot water to pass into thecold pipe.

Unfortunately these check valves are no longer available

What you can do is strip out the working valve from the hotside and fit it into the cold side.

You should be able to do this OK because from yourdisctiption the pressure in your hot supply is greater than the cold supply
