What would happen if the shower is turned on but the cold water has been turned off?, and the pump works to boost both cold and hot water?. Would that affect the flow of the shower?, I think so, but what other problems could arise?. Thank you!.

The pump would only pump hot to the shower and after awhile the cold side of the pump could heat up and may even seize. The flow would be lower as only half the available water is coming through.
