Jetforce 55 (mk6) rarely comes on

Hi. We have a Jetforce 55 (mk6) pump. The pump rarely comes on when the shower control is turned on. In the past month it has come on about 5 times. There seems to be no pattern, but most of the times have been when the shower has been running for 5 minutes or more.

Any suggestions what needs doing to make it work straight away, every time? Cleaning of parts, or replacement of parts? A new pump?

From your description I am inclined to suspect the shower hose is kinked or collapsed internally so check this out first.
If this is ok then it may be that the flow switch actuator is sticking aand replacement can be ordered online clicking on the link below.

HI, I originally posted this question and think I now know the answer. I took the pump apart and noticed that the impeller wheels have signs of wear. There was a small grove round the outside of the lip/flange of the impeller that is from where the impeller rubs against the main plastic casing. I smoothed the groove as much as I could and applied some waterproof grease to both the edge of the impeller and the pump casing. It has worked very well until this last week where service has become intermittent again. I intend to replace the impellers and grease again. Any other suggestions before I buy the new impellers?
