Exposed shower valve

I have a customer with a Hudson Reed shower valves the water runs for about fifteen seconds then shuts down to a trickle? Will replacing the cartridge solve the issue? Or is there something else I should check.

It may be the cartridge, however.......

Can you check the inlet filters first.

This cartridge is designed to fail safe, sooooo

If the cold water should fail (Not get past the filters!) the valve senses that and shuts the hot side down.

If the above is OK then it is probably the cartridge that is faulty.
