Replacement Boost Cartridge

Is it easy to replace one of these boost cartridges if I purchased for example I have removed the outer tap to expose the cartridge so is it just a matter of pulling it out as it does not seem to want to move or is it more complicated and I would need a plumber to do it because he will have the correct tools to be able to remove the old one?

Turn the water off then you should be able to just unscrew the cartridge pull it forward and out then refit the new one.

They come factory set so there shouldn’t be a problem however in a few cases you have to reset them for your particular conditions.

Thank you for your reply. I attach 3 pictures as I have sprayed with WD40 but still nothing is moving so was wondering whether I was trying to turn the wrong part of the cartridge so if you are able to advise using my pictures I would appreciate it. Many thanks.

The cartridge unscrews, and you will need something like an adjustable spanner for this.

Hi so I need to use an adjustable spanner to unscrew the hexagonal bolt which I presume will be by turning it left if I manage to budge it and not try and pull or unscrew the smaller part of the cartridge, I am scared that I will put pressure on the wrong part when I try to unscrew?

this is the cartridge and the hex part is hidden below the white part. As you will have noticed the part you see from the body of the shower outwards is the cartridge and the filter section is inside the body.
Turning anti clockwise should release the cartridge. Using some WD 40 at the junction of shower body and cartridge may help you to remove it.
