Shower shuts off completely

Hi there - Shower runs ok if turned fully to cold, but if turned to warm the shower runs for a second or so and then shuts off completely... Switch off and then on again, shower runs for a second then stops again. Hot water is a pressurised tank system. Shower has been used regularly over the last 8 years, other showers in the house work fine.
