Trevi CTV built in shower valve

HI,

My shower makes a hammer noise (very like water hammer) when any of the hot taps in the house are operated. The noise disappears if the shower is turned on. The entire water system is mains pressure. Can you advise what may be the problem with the shower mixer

Thanks

We really would have to hear this to establish where the noisewas coming from.

If the noise is coming from the shower my two suspects wouldbe the inlet check valves  http://www.showerdoc.com/ctv-check-valve  or the temperature cartridge.
