Flow control spinning

Hi, I have a problem with a Trevi Traditional built in valve. The flow control valve just keeps turning and does not seem to have a positive stop even though the water shuts off. It think the flow cartridges are ok as water stops? but could it be the gearbox spindle and cogs are worn out? Is this a common problem with the trevi valves? I also need a thermo cartridge for this valve as water does not get hot. Regards Gary

The flow handle on these type of showers does not have a stop as they are linked by the spindle to slip gears , which denoted by their name, slip.
