Aquatronic 3+ problem

Question

Have moved in to a flat with one of these showers so don't know when it was fitted. Worked OK for a week and then last night it came on by itself in the middle of the night. Pressing the on/off switch wouldn't stop it - we had to turn power off to stop the shower working. This morning, turned power back on and shower works but still on/off switch not working and now water is dripping out of the shower casing too. Any ideas? I have no instruction booklet either.

You may have two problems with this shower. The on / off button or the solenoid ,

You can check it if you have a multi meter, you should have a reading of at least k3.5 ohms, across the two terminals any less and you need a new valve. (Check the valve in the failed state.) (When it has stopped working!)

If there is power getting to the solenoid and it is not operating then there is a good chance that you have a faulty solenoid.

And also,

I think the Pressure Relief Device (PRD) has blown.

It’s a safety device on the bottom of the heating tank.

It is fairly easy to replace however there is usually something that causes it to blow, often a kink in the hose or the showerhead is blocked, so check this before fitting the new PRD.
