Triton AS2000XT

My mum got this shower installed by an electrician and he told her she has to put on the emersion to have a hot shower . I definitely think he has taken her for a fool because she is 80.years old .I always taught an electric shower heated the water automatically am I wrong

This shower is a Power Shower and as such runs off of the hot and cold water supply. It does not heat the water. The electrician is correct.
