Low Pressure help.

For the last 2 and a half months in our house our shower has been randomly switching to low pressure and then back to normal again.

Its suddenly gotten much worse, we've had our local water authority out who said the flow inside the house downstairs is ok etc and that is must be a fault with the shower. Over the last 2 weeks our shower has become so bad that it switches to low pressure, then back to normal after about 5 seconds, then another 5 seconds later back to cold/low pressure. It barely has chance to heat up.

But in these last 2 days, the whole water supply in the house has gotten worse, our shower constantly stays on low pressure from the moment we turn it on and just constantly stays low pressure. Also our cold water taps seem to be running a tad slower. But the hot water taps are useless, running very very slowly, not much more than a fast trickle.

Do you think these problems are connected? Our shower is an electric shower (Triton) but nothing to do with the boiler where the water is coming from in the taps?

All our inlets to the house, stopcocks etc are fully open? Problem just started happening a couple of months ago and has suddenly got worse with nothing on our end to trigger it.

If there is a problem in general with the flow in the house I would go back to the Water Authority.

And ask them what your water pressure should be, they will probably say that the supply a minimum of 1bar (the minimum required to operate a shower)however press them and ask what it is likely to be first thing in the morning (when everybody is showering)

They could have the pressure turned down because they are working on the main, or because there is a burst pipe some where and they have turned the pressure down to try to save water, or the pressure maybe low just because there is a burst pipe somewhere, that hasn’t been discovered yet!
