Thermostat not working with temp varying during shower

Shower working very well for over 4 years. Temperature varies during shower being much colder than before. Dial has to be turned past 40ish to get any heat. Pressure also appears down with Microphone shower working slightly better than overhead.

Hot water from sink tap is very hot

First check that the filters on the cartridge are clean and clear

 

If you are on a combi boiler then carry out the following check

 

Regarding the temperature fluctuation or cool running it could be a faulty cartridge however to check this, see if you can get hold of the hot supply pipe before it enters the shower or perhaps as it leaves the boiler.

 

If when holding this pipe the temperature fluctuates or is cool then the problem is not with the shower but more likely with the boiler as the shower can only deliver what the boiler sends to it.
