Triton Cara Shower fault

I fitted the shower for my daughter and it had been working fine. The water has suddenly started getting very hot. I did a recommissioning on it and bits came out of the pipe and it worked ok again. It has now started doing the same again but despite going through the start up process it is either very very hot or cold depending on the position of the dials. The flow, even on cold is poor yet the supply is clear and powerful. There is no discolourisation on the TCO and I'm thinking Stabilizer/flow valve assembly, I had to fit one recently to my own shower but that was easy to spot because it was leaking. Any ideas ? as I don't want to cost my daughter too much money if I can help it

First check the inlet filter in the solenoid valve is clear, also check the head and hose. If all is well then I would like you suspect the stabiliser valve.
