Dog-leg connector, tools to fit

I need to replace a faculty shower valve. The original pipe work was modified shortly after build, due to a fault. Pipe centres are 153mm apart, hence need dog-leg connectors to fit new 150mm valve and compensate for 3mm error. Questions. What are thread sizes on inlet and outlet of these connectors? What tools are required? How are the connectors stabilised in final position?

You should be able to pull the connections in on each side by 1.5mm in order to fit the new shower.
Dog legs are only used on primary fits, as they are connected behind the wall.
