Water flow will not totally shut off

We have moved into a new house where I have identified the shower as this model, the Triton Domina built-in.

The shower operates fine, and is fed by our combi boiler system. The problem is that when the dial is turned to stop the flow of water, a trickle still flows out, it cannot be totally turned off. We will be away over the Christmas period, so I am not happy about leaving it like this.

A plumber friend of mine (without actually coming to look in person) suggested it likely needed a 'new cartridge' and the shower instructions suggest we should 'renew flow control seals'.

Which of these solutions should we investigate? What parts should I buy, and is it possible to do this job myself?

This is the shower and I would start with the flow control seals , hot and cold.
