If you have a low pressure unit and have had a combiboiler fitted, you will need a retro kit to convert your shower, these are easy to fit however you will need to order  one for recessed showers as the one for the exposed valve is not available.

These instructions may help.

Turn the water off and remove the white/chrome covers, you should now see the knobs and the grey part of the cartridge.

You will see 4 screws that are recessed into the cartridge; these are the cartridge retaining screws.

Remove the screws and pull the cartridge straight out ( in a few cases this can be a bu**er to come out)

All you now need to do is push the new cartridge home in to the existing brass body.

(Unless…. You have a very old brass housing, if you have the old style housing there are no holes for the locating pins on the cartridge so just snap the pins off the cartridge.)

When you push the new cartridge home make sure the seals are well lubricated, due to the shape of the seals on the low pressure cartridges they have a tendency to roll back and not sit in properly as you push in the last few millimeters, it can be tricky to get this right, it is also difficult to see on the recessed models so take your time.

Once the cartridge is in place refit the cartridge retaining screws and turn on the water and test before you refit the covers etc.

Retro kit built in Valve.
