whistling shower

i have the triton hp shower which has started to whistle loudly when its on ,I have stripped it down and took cartridge out but don't have the tool to take out check valves assuming that is the source of problem the shower is about 8 yrs old ,any ideas and what problems would the cartridge have within for it to be replaced

It may be one of the valves in the elbows that is causing this.
