Shower power pull cord

When I pull the cord to switch the shower on the light is very dim and the shower will not operate. If I pull the cord a few times the light goes solid red and the shower then works.



Is this more a fault with the pull cord rather than the shower itself?

Yesyou need a new Pullcord switch.
