Water keeps running from pressure relief device after turning off all power

My shower keeps on disposing water out of the pressure relief device after turning the shower off on the device itself and the power on the wall and circuit breaker. What is the issue? The shower itself is about 13 years old. Do I need a replacement part or am I better off getting a new shower?

If you think the pressure relief device has activated.

It’s a safety device on the bottom of the heating tank or outlet pipe.
It is fairly easy to replace however there is usually something that causes it to activate, often a kink in the hose or the showerhead is blocked, so check this before fitting the new PRD.

However I am a little confused because your photo shows the water coming from the ordinary outlet.

Thank you for the swift response.

Apologies - the water indeed comes out of the outlet rather than the PRD (got caught up in technical jargon).

Is this easily fixed?

The boiler switch also turns off the RCD on the consumer unit, but the water continues to flow out of the outlet.

If when you switch off the shower at the main isolator and the shower keeps running then you have a faulty solenoid valve.

When you switch off the shower at the main isolator and the water stops running, then you have a faulty on/off switch or a faulty PCB or a micro switch that is sticking on.

Thanks for your response. I'm starting to think that replacing the shower is my best bet.

What is the like-for-like replacement for a Triton Ivory II that is 13 years old? Would the Triton T80 Easi-fit do the trick?

Also, do I need a plumber or electrician to install the new unit? Both showers are 8.5kW so electrics only need to be isolated? Or do I need to get a Buildings Regulations Certificate?

Both water and electrics need isolated, so either plumber or electrician or other competent person can do the job. No need for a certificate.
