Hot and cold water isolation to enable to replace cartridge ?

I have an isolation valve on the hot water feed but don't know how to isolate the cold water tank feed into the cartridge so I can replace with new cartridge.

This is a bit difficult without seeing/understanding the lay out of your plumbing, however......

There should be two valves coming from your cold water storage tank one for the hot and one for the cold.

If not then you may just have one from cold water tank which will turn off the hot water and the cold water is coming from the mains.

This will mean you have unequal pressures high pressure on the cold low, pressure on the hot, this valve is not designed to cope with unequal pressures however if this is the system you have and the valve has been working for years, then it should still work.
