temperature control

Our mira sprint 9.5 j95k 43/06 shower unit is approx 3 years old, up to recently we have had no problem with controlling our shower temperature, it was to hot some times which obviously we adjusted cooller, but now if we use the temperature we have been used to, all of a sudden the supply goes cold then the temperature comes back for a while then goes cold again,.at the moment if i adjust the thermal switch to a vertical position the temperature remains static, all though the shower is running on the winter setting, the temperature is not hot enough,if i put the temperture up, i then get the fault again, The head has been cleaned recently, theres no problem with water supply,(its mains direct supply), Is it possible the thermal switch has a fault. ?.

The things to check first are.

1 That the main valve coming into your house is fully open.

2 Then check that the valve on the line to the shower is fully open.

If these valves are not fully open then there may not be enough water
getting to your shower to open / close the safety device that allowspower through to the elements

If these are OK then youprobably need to replace your flow valve http://www.showerdoc.com/shower-spares/mira/MIRA-1563-507-Mira-Flow-Valve-Assembly-1563-507
