Triton Opal11 kettle got after switch off

I have an Opal 11 shower that seems to work normally until switched off. The water run on works as it should for about 5 seconds then stops, all normal so far. After water run on stops the shower makes a sound as though the water tank is boiling and the shower hose jumps as though something is intermittently pumping. This only stops following a click which I assume is the thermal cut out. If the shower is used immediately following this the water is scalding hot for about 3 secs before it cools to normal cold water temperature but then takes about 25 seconds to warm up. This happens on all the 3 settings including cold setting. Another odd thing is that on cold setting the water warms up to tepid not hot but certainly not cold. This problem seemed to occur the day after a water cut problem, I thought it might be air in the system but I have gone through the commissioning procedure but no joy. Hope someone can give me some clue as to the problem

If when it is switched off you hear it continuing to heat (Noise like a kettle starting to boil) this will mean that there is a switch or a relay that is stuck in the on position, this is keeping an element energised and this is probably what caused the original TCO to fail.

If this is the case replace the faulty switch or relay and make sure that you switch the shower off at the isolating switch when the shower is not in use because this may cause the new TCO to fail.
