This question is regarding Triton PC mixer - Shower Spares

inconsistent temperature

this shower is 9yrs old and has been fine,we usually have to change the water temp on the boiler in summer/winter, but this year has stayed cool, and we have had to stop the cold by the isolator valve and turn down the flow of the hot to get a hot shower. But it is inconsistent, I have taken the shower off and apart, and cant find any filters, and don't know where they should be, I did find a lump of something inidentyfiable

in the elbow inlet,also the hot & cold supply are the wrong way round! Would a service kit and filter help? It has also been suggested that too high water pressure may be to blame, and work was done on our street that did increase the pressure. Or would I be better off replacing the whole thing with a new thermostatic shower. Sorry this is such a long question! many thanks.

Regarding the temperaturefluctuation or cool running it could be a faulty cartridge however to checkthis, see if you can get hold of the hot supply pipe before it enters theshower or perhaps as it leaves the boiler.

If when holding this pipethe temperature fluctuates or goes cool then the problem is not with the showerbut more likely with the boiler as the shower can only deliver what the boilersends to it.        #

Disregard the temperature atthe taps as they have a different flow rate.

Also you say that you have aLP mixer but your description suggests you have a combi boiler which means youwill need the combi compatible cartridge
