PRD Failure

I have water poring from the tube attached to the PRD. I have taken the shower hose apart to ensure the plastic inner tube is not kinked in addition I have cleaned the shower head. If the failure is down to a sudden surge in water pressure I cannot prevent this happening again. Should I still purchase a new PRD?

I doubt it would be a surge of water pressure and if it was there is nothing you can reasonably do to prevent it.

Sometimes these things just go!
