Triton rapide 3+
The TCO (Thermal cut out switch) in showers is basically a safety device that is meant to activate when the shower over heats to save anyone getting scalded. This means that your shower already had an underlying issue that was causing you shower to over heat,
The TCO activating can be caused by one of the following issues:
The local water board working in your street causing low water pressure or the water is switched off.
Low water pressure to the shower
Blocked Filter
Stop tap to the shower not fully open.
A leak inside your shower
Melting wires inside the shower
These are all reasons why the shower will overheat and cause the TCO to active, if the TCOI is activated it will then reset after about 10 - 20 minutes. If the TCO is activated more than 3 - 4 times it will then fail altogether needed replaced. This also will mean it will do the same with a new one.
This meant that your old shower either had an underlying issues or you were plagued with low water pressure or no water pressure at some point.
