Tools required?

Can you tell me if this can be fitted by someone who has never done plumbing and only has regular household tools available? The shower is definately leaking from this point and needs doing

No special tools required

 The replacement isfairly straight forward.

Turn of the water and power you then have to dismantlemost of the inside of the shower to get enough space to slip the old part outand the new part in.

This sounds more difficult than itactually is, however you do have to be methodical noting where screws/nuts etc.come from and what goes where and it is always a good idea to take photos asyou go because you can refer to them when you are rebuilding.

Just fitted a stabiliser valve so thought I would share how to do this.

First take out the main screws which hold the stabiliser valve in, there should be two srews.

Next take out the screws which hold the can assembly in (the can assembly is shown on the diagram on the main triton spares page on this site as numbers 4,5,6.) There are two screws at the bottom and one on the left side which hold this in.

Then simply pull the can assembly off of the old stabiliser valve by sliding to the left.

Next unhook the the top of the stabiliser valve from its seat (this looks like a small plastic pin)

Now lift the old stabliser valve upwards off the bottom connecting pipe.

Fit the new part and connect everything in reverse order! Easy.

It is is worth noting to make sure you turn your thermostat control on the front case back to 0 before refitting. This is because the new valve is set at cold.
