intermittent 550i pump

The pump only activates initially when then shower head is moved to bath level and up to head level. After using for 5-10mins shower is turned off. The pump will not then start again until 1hr approx has elapsed. Can you diagnose the problem

First checkthat the pump inlet filters are clear.

However themore likely problem is that you do not have sufficient “head” the vertical distancebetween the top of the shower head and the base of the cold water tank.

For the pumpto start automatically, depending on which the shower valve you have, you need between300mm and 600mm “head”

If you don’thave this head you need a Negative head / universal shower pump, or a negative headkit which involves fitting a button to the wall to start the shower
