Should I buy a pumped electric shower?

I have an Albion direct combination cylinder 1850/450. I have very low pressure and the water is not particularly hot at all. A plumber has advised me to buy a pumped electric shower. Everything I read on line conflicts with this advice saying that combination cylinders and pumps don't work. Please advise further?

A pumped electric shower is designed for installations where the pressure of the mains water supply is too low, unreliable or non-existent.

They only have one inlet feed , and your plumber may be meaning a www.showerdoc.com/showers/power-showers
